Some treatment methods commonly used
Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) works with you to determine negative thought patterns that lead to unhealthy behavior, like abusing drugs or alcohol. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), a form of CBT, helps you regulate your emotions and learn positive coping skills.
Individual Counseling
Working closely with a therapist gives you the chance to delve deeply into issues surrounding substance use. It also allows you to set goals and discuss progress with a professional who knows you personally.
Group Therapy
Group Therapy gives you the opportunity to relate to others who are struggling with similar issues. Groups are run by at least one therapist and offer the chance for you to offer insight with others. It builds positive relationships while working toward common goals.
Support Groups
Support Groups provide a safe environment for discussion of personal issues related to substance use and how addiction affects your lives. These groups may continue after treatment has ended, supporting your recovery as long as you need.
Art Therapy
Art Therapy encourages you to express emotions in different ways. Some people do not feel comfortable talking about their feelings or have a hard time putting them into words. If that’s you, art can be a therapeutic method for you to release deep emotions and provide relief.
Fitness & Nutrition
Feeling good physically can boost your mental state and increase your desire to live a healthy life without substance use.
